Artist's Description
These massive sandstone rock formations have been carved and polished by wind and rain over hundreds of centuries to have the smooth surfaces you see here. The obvious tilt angle is the result of massive land upheavals in the distant past, giving them a special uniqueness in appearance. The deep blue Colorado sky, passing bright white clouds, and scrub brush nicely complement the scene.
About Richard Risely
Redlands, California, high school class of 1950. Enlisted in U. S. Navy during Korean War. Married my sweetheart - took night school college - four really great children came along - Career in electronics as a circuit design and product engineer, leading into starting a business making electronic signal control systems for railroads. Photography was always a favorite hobby. After retirement, good years including lots of travel and living in Colorado, California, and Oregon. Now I am focusing on being more professional in photographing some of the beautiful and interesting things I keep seeing in this world.
